JANUARY 2000 In late January, IAP Research, Inc. installed a 112.5 KJ Magnepress® System at the PMF Industries, Inc. facility in Williamsport, Pennsylvania PMF is a fabricator of stainless steel components for the food service, pharmaceutical and aerospace industries. PMF specializes in flow forming of stainless steel and other advanced aerospace alloys. PMF plans to use the Magnepress® System to assemble an aluminum/stainless steel heat exchanger component for a customer in the food service equipment industry. IAP and PMF Industries will be working closely to develop additional applications for the Magnepress® System. IAP Research has been instrumental in creating the process that harnesses the power of high-intensity magnetic fields to form metals and powders into net shape components. Magnetic pressing technology can also be used to form sheet metal and tubes, and join/assemble parts. |
