Typically, IAP Research starts a new job when a company's product manager or manufacturing engineer says "I want to make a part like this, but we just can't do it with our usual process." We know from experience that just because something can't be done in the usual way doesn't mean it can't be done. For example, IAP Research teams have figured out how to:

  • Compact powder metal to higher densities than any other "rapid" production press.
  • Eliminate problems associated with heating powder metals before pressing.
  • Form aluminum sheet into shapes not possible through traditional metal forming methods.
